Our School

Welcome to CD East Middle School

Welcome! Central Dauphin East Junior High School opened during the 1962-63 school year. At that time, the school colors were red and blue and we were the home of the Patriots. In 2006, East Junior became East Middle School and housed students in grades 6 through 8. The mascot changed to the Panther and our school colors changed to black and white. East Middle underwent a major renovation in 2008 when many updates and upgrades were made to the building, including air conditioning.

East Middle welcomes students from our three feeder elementary schools: South Side, E.H. Phillips, and Rutherford. East Middle is a diverse school serving approximately 700 6th-8th grade students from our local communities. Students from East Middle attend Central Dauphin East High School after their 8th grade year.

At East Middle, we embrace our differences and celebrate our greatest strengths--the diversity and resiliency of our students, families, and staff. We show our Panther Pride through Excellence in Academics, Modeling Positive Behaviors, and Showing Safe Behaviors (EMS). We have nearly 100 caring faculty and staff members who are dedicated to providing our students with the best educational opportunities and preparing them for successful futures.

East Middle is located at 628 Rutherford Road in Harrisburg, PA, adjacent to Central Dauphin East High School and down the street from the CDSD Administration Building.
